"As we humans approach the singularity, we’ll soon be able to materialise anything we can imagine. I believe therefore we need be both rigorous and playful in our imaginings. We are in effect, Nature's 3D printers."

Gordon Glyn-Jones’ work has most succinctly been described as: ‘Bio-folklore of future’ (Think Heath Robinson meets Microcosmos).
ARTWORK: Gordon Glyn-Jones is a Zimbabwean artist based in London. His work explores the future evolution of living things. Whilst his subject matter is speculative, his distinct visual language is interwoven with past art traditions: the surreal, the folkloric, chimeric and macabre.
Born of an unflinching discipline of drawing every single day, visual narratives are layered, nuanced and intuitive; pointing to metaphysical and material projections of the future.
EDUCATION: Studied under Helen Leiros, Delta Gallery, Zimbabwe. BA(FA) Michaelis Art School, University of Cape Town.
CAREER: Gordon takes part in select solo & group shows and collaborates on projects aligned with his output. He periodically writes about art, specifically supporting African art abroad and has edited and written for various travel & culture magazines internationally . (BBC/ArtAfrica/TSA)
WORKSHOPS: He holds regular drawing workshops and online lectures that share facets of his process, allowing his students a unique access to the exhilarating power of pure invention.
